Gravity Swing

Gravity Swing is a fun casual game designed for tablet. Players explore space with their spaceship and navigate by orbiting bodies. Players can slingshot themselves using a body's gravity to increase speed. When the player's speed is high enough they can pass through the wormhole to complete the level. The game has two different level types; Missions, which are short challenges, and Explorations, which are large levels for the player to explore.

My Contribution
As design lead, and practically only designer, of the project I was responsible for all tasks which befall a designer. There was one artist who also did level design for some of the levels. The main things I worked on where;
- Communicating the design to the rest of the team.
- Gameplay design
- Player feedback
- Level design
- UI design
- Menu design

The concept of Gravity Swing was based of a gameplay trailer made by me in Premier Pro (the youtube video on the bottom-right). It was made for another assignment where I had to create a short trailer of a gameplay mechanic to be able to clearly communicate the idea to others.

Gravity Swing was made during a school project which allows a group of students to make a game in 14 days. The assignment was to deliver a finished, polished game.

Development time: 14 days
Engine: Unity
